billing and insurance FAQs
Do you take insurance?
No, we are an out of network practice and do not take insurance at this time. Payment is expected at the time of service.
Does Insurance cover my sessions?
If you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance may cover part of your therapy costs. Out-of-Network benefits vary by insurance carrier and policy. You can learn more about how your insurance company will reimburse your therapy expenses by calling your Insurance Member Services Phone Number. We will provide you with a Superbill or Statement for Reimbursement for you to submit to your insurance company if you can and choose to seek reimbursement.
What should I ask my insurance company?
Does my plan include Out-of-Network benefits?
If yes, what is the Out-of-Network deductible?
Are individual psychotherapy services (CPT code 90837 or 90834) covered on my Out-of-Network benefits?
If yes, what percentage of the Allowed Amount is covered once my deductible is met?
Where do I send claims for reimbursement?
What is the Good Faith Estimate?
A Good Faith Estimate (GFE) is a document that details the anticipated costs of healthcare services. Under the No Surprises Act (effective January 1, 2022), healthcare providers, including mental health professionals, must provide a Good Faith Estimate to uninsured or self-pay clients before services are rendered.
What payment method do you accept?
We accept credit/debit card payments at the time of service. If available, you may consider using your medical spending accounts such as HSA or FSA accounts, to pay for treatment. There is no service fee for using credit, debit, or HSA cards. Your card information is collected as part of the initial paperwork and is stored on a secure site.
Do you offer sliding scale fees or reduced rate?
We are dedicated to promoting social justice and ensuring equitable access to professional trauma services. To promote equity and inclusion, we offer services at a reduced rate to a small set percentage of our regular client caseload.
